Devotions is 100! Wow, I can't believe we have come this far already. It seems like only yesterday Devotions was a poop machine with sumo like body shape. (Not that anything's changed.) Sniff....sniff....they grow up so fast.

If you've been with us for the last 99 Devotions you've learned that I; hate foam, used to own horses, was born in Papua New Guinea, have 4 sisters, like Batman, like Charlie Brown and at the age of 13 convinced a 16 year old bully not to fight me because I used to do Secret Ops for the government. Hopefully though, you have learned more about God's word and gained a deeper hunger for a passionate relationship with Christ. So what should the 100th devotion be about? I'm glad you asked. I'm going to list 100 ways in which Leviticus is the coolest book of the bible!

Just Kidding.

"After a long time had passed and the Lord had given Israel rest from all their enemies around them, Joshua, by then old and well advanced in years, (approximately 100 years old, get it?) summoned all Israel and said to them:..." (Joshua 23:1-2)

I want to share with you from the book of Joshua. What a coincidence, my names Joshua too. hehe. No, I picked this on purpose because just as Joshua spoke to his people in this passage I am speaking to you as your spiritual mentor and discipler in Christ. Before Joshua died he thought it was crucial that Israel be reminded of their commitment to God. I'm not planning on dying, but after 99 Devotions I thought it a good time to remind you of a few things.

"You yourselves have seen everything the Lord your God has done to all these nations for your sake; it was the Lord your God who fought for you." (23:3)

Remember what God has done for you these past years. Remember how it was the Lord who fought your enemies, temptations, trials, and pain. It's by his grace and sovereignty that you are still alive and well.

"Be very strong; be careful to obey all that is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, without turning aside to the right or to the left...hold fast to the Lord your God, as you have until now." (23:6)

Be obedient to the Lord. You have learned from God's word what it means to live a life of purity, integrity, humility, and love. Don't forsake what you have learned. Don't water down the commands of God. Don't be seduced by the world around you and abandon the God you have trusted.

"You know will all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the lord your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled..."(23:14)

God is faithful. He has rescued you and carried you this far and He won't stop. Every promise He makes is certain.

"So I gave you a land on which you did not toil and cities you did not build; and you live in them and eat from vineyards and olive groves that you did not plant." (24:13)

God has given you everything you own, eat, wear, and enjoy. Don't hold onto it with a tight fist. Live with thankfulness and generosity with all that God has given you. Loan things without needing them back, give without worrying about the amount, don't hoard possessions. Live with little and give lots.

"Now fear the Lord and serve him with all faithfulness...but if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve. Throw away the foreign gods that are among you and yield your hearts to the Lord!" (24:14,15,23)

Whom do you serve? Get rid of the things that have distracted you and become more important then God. Rid yourself of the gods of popularity, fortune, success, greed, and anything that has more of your focus then God. Place God once again as your center and sole passion in life. Allow him to forgive and cleanse you.

If, as Joshua speaks before he dies, this was my last Devotion I would want you to know and live out these truths more then anything. Love God, Obey Him, and seek to know him with all your heart mind and body.

-Josh
